Reflection Of hurricane Maria

Reflection: hurricane Maria

Hurricane Maria took Puerto Rico by surprise. It will be very difficult for people to forget this, taking as an example those who could not forget San Cipriano, Georges or Hugo. We were not prepared for this, regardless of the technological advances we have or how much they warned us. The new generation had never seen anything like this, much less experience it.
The hurricane was horrible but honestly, I did not see much since I was sleeping. According to my parents, it was very intense and they were traumatized. After the hurricane passed, I realized the disaster that monster had made. We quickly set about picking up and cleaning the surroundings, I think we were among the first to be totally clean. Cleaning the streets that connect us with other towns was a bit more difficult, but it was achieved. In the urbanization that I live my father and I were the only ones who cleaned the street, since people did not help, but at least other people did help. However, despite the work that we did to clean the street, I think it was a great experience and it helped me not to be bored at home. I had a great time with my family and I shared with my friends and with people I had never met. I went cycling with my friends and it was as if I had gone out for the first time to run in it.
It was a unique experience. The most that I liked about this experience is that the whole family joined and we all had a good time as a family. Personally, I do not think that this experience has changed the way of being of the people since at the beginning they can show solidarity but when they return to their comfort they forget about others and they remain the same or worse people. So, the slogan that says "Puerto Rico rises together" will have to do an investigation to the term UNITED.

What can we get out of this experience? Well I think that we can learn to value things from this. Now that we see ourselves in this situation in which we have no light, that there is no water or there is no roof to shelter in, we know what it is to pass those needs. I do not know how many days I've been since the hurricane, but I'm still waiting for the electricity to get to my house, and I think there's a lot to be done, even though my town is quite a city compared to other towns. Being without drinking water in my house is no longer a problem, but it is not stable yet, so keep that in mind. I know that many people are without water and that is why I think it is one of the most important needs that they should have and I hope they have it. I think we have learned the value we must give to all these things and how important they are in our lives, without them we are nothing.

Thanks to God that nothing happens to none of my family members. All houses are stable and in good condition and all of them are great. Only one of my dad’s uncles lose his house completely. After all this happens I has notice that the country is beginning to emerge, all trees are green again and people are working again, and finally College started. It’s being difficult to study and searching for homework because of the energy problems but I which everything gets back to normal for me and all my partners.

  2. This was one of my worst experiences. Thanks to it I learned to appreciate everything I have because you don't know when those things can go away.
